Mr Brown for President!
Dec. 3rd, 2004 03:20 pmHey there!
Listening to Radio 4's today programme is sometimes like listening to a rehersal for Have I Got News For You.
Discussions and comments regarding Mr Brown's budget announcements.
Fun! Politics and Economics! Ra!
So...
There are the summaries of what and who will be getting money (biggest news - more for children and elders).
Then comes the backlash.
Criticism 1 - Why is Mr Brown spending so much money? He is trusting questionable (i.e. his own) economic forecasts! Tut tut!
Criticism 2 - Why is Mr Brown not spending all that money he has? There is a tax surplus! Tut tut.
There is a part of me that wonders if Baby Bush has not had a little something to do with Blair backing out of any arrangement he had with Brown regarding the leadership... *conspiracy*
And there are those of you (as once I was) who are disinclined to support Brown becomming our venerable leader because that would mean the economy would be babied by some flunky. Ah! But it would not! The severeance of the Chancellors remit from the PM's control is unique to this administration. If Brown were to be our VL, we would not lose a Chancellor, but gain a Leader! ALL the government departments could be as competently and throroughly whooped into shape as the economy has been!
*ahem*
I would like to state at this juncture that I am not carrying Mr Brown's baby.
Thank you.
