There is something spooky about travelling in from a far and distant land shrouded in strange mists between unseen hills into a clear blue-skied bustling metropolis. Brought to mind The Others.

Deadlines are approaching but I just need to do the final edit of draft 2 and it will have been met. Sometimes, often when a rabbit has appeared from the hat, I wonder just how much I could actually achieve if I set about trying.

Ooo thanks for the link, I like that.
I'm looking forward to this being an exline.
It is difficult to write serious copy about legacies when one is feeling macarbe.

I can see that.

Writing about networks and working together is not really good for me today, either... :}

If I were an active believer, I'd want to have some active words with whomsoever saw fit to weave such days as these.

I am, and I do.

Often, the answers are not ones I like, but they are useful.

For some value thereof.... :}

*Things* happen when I indulge in spirituality. *Things* like getting what I wish for.
Most answers that are worth hearing are not easy to hear.

Empathy and healing and this consequential feeling
Or something.

I think I should proof read legacy stuff this when I'm done for any errant verse.

Wry grin - I have a reputation for not writing "proper" academicese - in other words, it's not deadly dull and boring.

And for citing... interesting sources. :)

I've "saved a copy" of your paper - such things are slantingly relevant to what I'm up to.

*smiles*
I think I shall be encouraged not to quote Sylvia Plath (lady Lazarus) or Wendy Cope (Engineers Corner) in this!

I am however brewing something of a comedy sketch/radio play in the back of my mind whilst all this is going on. Multi-tasking and an equitable division of labour indeed.

Good heavens, the CPD one?

/wow Impressed.

And citing such sources is good. :)

I am horribly tempted to cite THIS in the paper on networks but will refain womanfully....

I'm fundraising for curriculum enrichment schemes - involving teachers as well as students. There are schemes we fund for professorships and suchlike - being able to state the impact of such interactions on ones CPD, and indeed the value of this in a wider context, will be useful.

Linking academia and industry

That is a good source! I find it interesting what makes something a "valuable source" in terms of peer perception. I don't get to cite much. Only a few bits about why this is important, but that is Monday's deadline... from legacies to day to skeleton bids on Monday.

Death and taxes.
We can't help with the former, but if you leave a legacy it won't be subject to the latter
That would be the easiest way of saying it, but its not the house style.

I swiped this one from a friend the other day:
